The idea for the "Greenway" product came about during a conversation with an avid golfer and president of a golf course: by combining satellite data and a cloud-based user interface, completely new insights into the operation and maintenance of golf courses can be gained.
Greenway is a product by Start Up Karuna Technology UG (haftungsbeschränkt).
Karuna was founded in 2018 in Darmstadt, Germany. Karuna's mission is to increase global resilience against climate change using state-of-the-art methods e.g. Satellites and Artificial Intelligence.
The team behind Greenway continues to grow and consists of experts in Earth Observation, Data Sciences, Geosciences, and IT Management. Together, we turned an idea into reality and today equip leading golf courses with our system.
Greenway's satellite-based multispectral data gives us new insights for maintaining our course. With current and historical data, we can prepare remodeling projects, adjust irrigation, and verify the effectiveness of new maintenance practices.
Greenway's innovative solution provides golf course operators with new insights to help them maintain their turf. Early detection of plant stress allows for targeted irrigation adjustments, water savings and increased course playability.
Greenway helps us to achieve our daily goal, which is: To produce first-class playability and keep the costs for the water low.
We work with Greenway to get up-to-date data on the condition of our field, to communicate with environmental authorities and to adjust irrigation. This allows us to significantly improve the condition of our field while using less water.
